摘要： PURPOSE:To promote productivity by inserting immediately sequence block into molten metal in a mold after lifting and retrograding a tundish on a tundish car at finishing of casting into a mold from the tundish. CONSTITUTION:After finishing of pouring for the molten metal in a ladle 5, a long nozzle 7 is taken out and the ladle 5 is turned out from a casting place by a swing-tower, etc. Next, the tundish 6 on the tundish car is lifted to lift up a submerged-nozzle 11 above the mold 1 and is retrograded by necessary min. distance toward the mold thickness direction. After inserting the sequence block 2 into the mold 1, the tundish 6 is returned back, and the other molten metal is started to cast. In this way, the productivity is remarkably promoted.

摘要： PURPOSE:To decrease deposition and to improve the yield of an ingot as a result of non-oxidation casting by embedding porous refractories having a specific sectional area or above into the specific position on one intermediate side face of a flow regulating nozzle made of non-porous refractories in the lower position of the tap hole of a tundish and blowing an inert gas through said refractories. CONSTITUTION:The flow straightening nozzle 5 made of the non-porous refractories is interposed between an insert nozzle 4 and immersion nozzle 6 of the tundish 1. The porous refractories 15 are embedded to the one intermediate side face within a narrow range of about + or -30 deg. along the mold 2 surface of the nozzle 5 and the diameter thereof is made about >=15% of the outside diameter of the flow regulating nozzle. The deposition in the nozzle is decreased by blowing the inert gas through such refractories 15. The yield of the ingot is thus improved by the non-oxidation casting.

摘要： PURPOSE:To cast a slab having a large section and good quality by providing electromagnetic stirrers which stir the unsolidified part in a slab descending from a casting mold and stirring said part at the height at which the residual molten steel rate attains an optimum value. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel is poured from a tundish into the casting mold 2 and a dummy bar 3 is fixed to right under the mold 2 to wait for the solidification of the molten steel. The dummy bar 3 is lowered and support rolls 5, 6 are driven and rotated by the slab 1 to support the slab 1 from both sides when the residual molten steel rate in the mold 2 attains about 30%. The in-roll electromagnetic stirrer 5a incorporated into each support roll 5 is started to stir the unsolidified part 1a in the slab 1 at the same instant when the bar 3 starts descending. All of the stirrers 5a are not simultaneously driven but only the stirrers 5a occupying the optimum stirring position are selectively driven according to the descending of the slab 1 in this case.

The increase in the size of the inclusion and the floating of the inclusion and foam are thus accelerated and the billet having good quality is obtd.
