    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an engine start by using a kick pedal in the state of housing a main stand, increasing a degree of freedom in design of a motorcycle with a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: In this kick start type motorcycle, a main stand 37 is fitted to a vehicle body frame 11, accurately to a pivot plate 21 freely to be turned between a standing condition and a housing condition sprung up from the standing condition, and an engine 31 is started by kicking a kick pedal 51. The main stand 37 is provided with a stand switch 114 to be turned off in the housing condition and to be turned on in the standing condition, and a control section is provided so as to inhibit a start by the kick pedal 51 based on the OFF information of the stand switch 114 in the housing condition wherein the main stand 37 is sprung up.
