    • PURPOSE:To improve heat transfer efficiency and reduce the volume by winding alternately two pairs of thin plates and reticular sheets on a cylinder surface in multi-layers and bonding airtightly thin plates together at the beginning and the end of the plate in order to secure a plurality of pairs of spiral cross-sectional flow channels. CONSTITUTION:Thin plates A31 and B32, and a reticular sheets A41 and B42 are alternately spirally wound around a cylinder and they are bonded with a brazing material, etc. At a header section 1 a reticular mask section 5 is wound and solidified in one body with a soldering material, etc. In two kinds of fluids between which heat is exchanged, one enters the upper end of an inlet and outlet opening A61 and flows through the reticular sheet B42 and flows out from the upper end of the inlet and outlet opening B62. Each of the flow passages is divided by the thin plates A31 and B32, so that there is no chance that fluids get mixed together. It is possible to miniaturize the heat exchanger and improve its efficiency because the partition of the flow passage is very thin and each flow channel is divided into small channels and the distance between the flow channels can be made thereby small.

    • PURPOSE:To substantially reduce the wear of a piston itself by a method wherein in an engine having a cylinder and a sleeve forming a sliding surface of a seal while being installed with a relation of replacing an inner circumferential surface of an axial part of the cylinder, a diameter of a piston of area across an end part of the sleeve is formed smaller than that of another part of it. CONSTITUTION:A piston 7a is formed such that an area 31 across an end part 30 of a sleeve 14 at its axial position is formed to have a smaller diameter than that of another area over a range of l1 (provided, l1>l). That is, when a diameter of another area of the piston 7a is is a range of 30 to 40mm, a diameter of the area 31 is formed to have a small diameter of about 0.5mm reduction. An expansion engine 4a constructed as above may perform an operation similar to that of the prior art. Even if there is a slight step at an interface part between an inner surface of the first cylinder 10 and an inner surface of a sleeve 14 due to a non-coincidence between an axis of the first cylinder 10 and an axis of the sleeve 14, the piston 7a, i.e., the area 31 does not contact with this step part.
