An earth amount calculating part 8 accesses a Z buffer 16 and calculates banked/cut earth amount. A triangle dividing part 7 accesses a grating point information part 13, an on-line point information part 14 and an internal point information part 15 and outputs rectangular data. A display 10, a keyboard 11 and a mouse 12 are parts for interactively executing various inputs and operation and a CPU1 manages and integrates the whole parts. In the constitution, an intersection between a ground face and a formation face can be quickly and accurately found out and a sciene after formation can be displayed.

    • PURPOSE:To realistically represent the hair of the head by designating the parting of the hair on a head model displayed on a display screen, and arranging the hairs at both sides from the designated parting. CONSTITUTION:The head model whose hair is desired to define is displayed on a display, and the position of the parting or the position 101 of the whirl of the hair is designated on a picture seen from just above. Then, the hair is generated by computer processing as making the parting a boundary, and the forelock and the back hair are defined as the front side of a face and the back side of the head respectively. Further, a user designates the part in which the hair is generated as making the parting the boundary and the density, the length and the direction 103 of the forelock or the back hair independently of each other. Namely, algorithm to enable the user to designate the hair at the parting is used. Thus, the representation of the hair with the sense of reality can be attained without using the model of the tuft of the hair.

A cutting surface designating means 3 generates cutting surface information based on inputted designating information, and a cross section shape calculating means 4 generates the shape of the left surface without being cut by the cross section shape and the cutting surface based on the cutting surface information and surface shape information. The displaying means 5 displays the cross section shape and the corrected surface shape again. Thus, the arbitrary cross section shape of the solid and a condition inside the solid can be displayed.
