On the other hand, a line information separation section 36 of a called exchange 1-b separates only destination information or the absolute line number in the additional signal in the information sent from the coupler 2 and gives the separated information to a line information collation section 37. The line information collation section 37 compares the absolute line number sent from the separate section 36 with a data of a line information management section 33 in its own exchange to confirm the continuity of the line.

Then, the circuit 4 converts data from the circuit 3 to highway series data and sends out to a subscriber's circuit through a distributing circuit 5. The circuit 6 converts the sent data to analog data and sends to out to a telephone set 7.

CONSTITUTION:When the connection from an exchange 1 to the metallic relay line 6 is desired, the exchange 1 uses an MF signal transmitter-receiver and a supervisory signal transmitter-receiver in relay line signal equipments 15, 25 to transmit/receive a required control signal with an exchange 2, the exchange 2 uses an analog trunk 27 and a PCM terminal equipment 26 to convert the transmitted/received control signal as the control signal for the metallic relay line 6 and sends the result to the metallic relay line 6. The exchange 1 is connected to the metallic relay line 6 while using the exchange 2 as the relay exchange and when a holding signal is sent from an attendant board via the metallic relay line 6, the exchange 2 uses the analog trunk 27 and the PCM terminal equipment 26 to convert the terminated holding signal into a digital control signal defined separately and relays it to the exchange 1.

CONSTITUTION:In an incoming highway 16 from a subscriber circuit, when a timing signal 1 takes place in a prescribed timing to a control input 30 from a timing generating circuit 32 by a fixed time slot insertion circuit 24, a test pattern generated by a test pattern generating circuit 28 is inserted to the test time slot specified in the highway. Then it is transformed into a parallel data by a serial-parallel transforming circuit and a parity generating circuit 34 together with the serial data of the time slot of other usual talking and the result is inputted to a line concentration switch 10. In such a case, an odd parity is added at the time slot of the usual talking data and an even parity is added at the test time slot. In the parallel high way, the call is exchanged by the switch 10, a distribution switch 12 and a relay switch 14 and an odd parity is checked by a parallel/serial transforming circuit and a parity check circuit 68.
