The counter drive gear 19 is supported through a bearing 40 on an outer periphery of a support 10A extending from a case 10, and the carrier C3 and the counter drive gear 19 are connected to each other, and the hydraulic servo 50 is arranged on the outside diameter side of a connecting part of the carrier C3 and the counter drive gear 19 between a ring gear R3 of a planetary gear set and the counter drive gear 19.

SOLUTION: In the case of rapid accelerating, when the relation between the throttle opening and a vehicle speed is moved to a specific area, the speed is switched from 5th speed to 4th low speed, and the speed pattern is changed to an intermediate pattern 21 from an ordinary pattern 20. In the intermediate pattern 21, the speed is switched between the intermediate speed (3rd, 4th low speed), and two ordinary speeds (2nd, 5th speed). When the speed is lowered with a constant throttle opening, for example, the gear is shifted down from 4th low speed to 3rd low speed, and then from 3rd low speed to 2nd speed, and the gear is shifted up from 4th low speed to 5th speed when the speed is increased. That is, the speed pattern is returned from the intermediate pattern 21 to the ordinary pattern 20, when the shift down or up is performed to 2nd speed or 5th speed in the intermediate pattern 21.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent the occurrence of inhibition to smooth power transmission by providing a power control means to control the output of a power source so that output torque of a power source is brought into a positive drive state during an operation state that a rotation ratio is within a given range from a neutral position and the output torque is brought into a negative drive state. SOLUTION: When a pulley ratio is in a given range and an accelerator pedal is released and a brake pedal is stepped on, neutral (N) control is brought into a stating state. In N control, the same oil pressure is fed to two pulleys 7 and 9, and simultaneously, an engine outputs given low torque by an electronic throttle system and the low torque is inputted to a belt type continuously variable transmission(CVT) 11. By this constitution, the CVT 11 is converged toward a gear neutral point at a comparatively rapid speed. In this case, control is effected such that given engine torque is outputted so that a coast state that torque is transmitted from a wheel in the direction of the engine is not produced and a convergence force of N control is not brought into a negative value.

A short pinion shaft 32 is arranged inside a long pinion shaft 30, and the fastening member 39 is arranged in the vicinity of the short pinion shaft 32. Thus, the planetary gear unit 12 becomes compact in both the axial and radial directions.

Thus the sudden change of resistance force to the moving back of the vehicle can be removed.
