    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating car shredder dust, relatively easy to operate, low in the unit price of combustible gas obtained, and solving various problems still left unsolved in gasification by external indirect heating.
      SOLUTION: The method comprises the following practice: Car shredder dust D is externally indirectly heated in a metallic revolving cylinder 21 and gasified to obtain combustible gas G1 and a carbonized mixture C. At least part of the combustible gas G1 is blown via a vent hole H provided on the cylinder 21 into a combustion chamber 25 surrounding the cylinder 21, mixed with an oxidizing agent OG and at least partly combusted, thus indirectly heating the car shredder dust D from the outside of the cylinder 21. As necessary, modification of the combustible gas is assisted by introducing water and/or steam S, and/or an oxidizing agent OG into the cylinder 21 and/or the combustion chamber.
