    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw conveyor capable of preventing biting accident when conveying an object to be handled having large size and a complicated shape hardly allowing easy swallow into a casing on, in particular, a supply port side.
      SOLUTION: This screw conveyor is constituted in such a way that a screw 15 in which a screw blade 17 is integrally connected with a cantilever rotary shaft 16 supported by only a bearing 18 arranged on a supply side for the object to be handled in a horizontal or substantially horizontal cylindrical casing 11 in which a supply port 12 and a discharge port 13 for the object to be handled are provided in end parts separated from each other, respectively, is inserted into the casing 11. The inner diameter of the casing 11 is formed to be larger than that of the screw blade 17 markedly so that a clearance C between an inner face of the casing 11 and it at an upper end of the screw blade 17 is larger than that at a lower end of the screw blade 17 markedly. An axis AC of a rotary shaft 16 is eccentric downward relative to the center CC of cross section of the casing 11.
