    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the ease of ship handing while improving fuel efficiency by efficiently switching a fuel save mode and a normal mode.
      SOLUTION: A set rotation speed and an actual rotation speed are input to a controller 4, and in the normal mode, a PID controller 12 calculates an output value to a fuel supply means of a ship engine 2 from a difference between the set rotation speed and the actual rotation speed. The PID controller 12 also has the fuel save mode in which a change range of the output value per unit time is decreased as compared with the normal mode. Detection sections 20, 22, 24, 26, 28 are provided for monitoring the variation of the set rotation speed and the actual rotation speed and when the set rotation speed or the actual rotation speed exceeds a predetermined range in the fuel save mode, the PID controller 12 is switched to the normal mode by outputs of the detection sections.
