    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas meter capable of improving measuring accuracy on consumption of a fuel gas. SOLUTION: Three reed switches 121A to 121C are disposed on a movement route D of a magnet 14, thereby forming a flow measuring mechanism for the gas meter. When the magnet 14 moves along the movement route D in proportion to the flow of the gas, the flow of the gas is calculated based on flow pulse signals outputted from the respective reed switches 121A to 121C each time the magnet 14 passes thereby. Output time intervals of flow pulse signals outputted from the reed switches 121 are shorter than in a case where a single reed switch 121 (only 121A for example) is disposed along the movement route D, and the number of flow data calculated in the gas meter increases. This makes it possible to detect a relatively small change of flow in a large- capacity-type gas meter and to reduce measuring errors with respect to flow calculation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

SOLUTION: In the flowmeter equipped with the flow sensor 3, generating the electromotive force of voltage corresponding to the power consumed by the heater 34, arranged in a fluid flow channel 17 and the flow velocity of a fluid in thermopiles 32, 33, a power supply means A for intermittently supplying power to the heater 34 and a flow velocity measuring means 13A for measuring the flow velocity of the fluid, on the basis of power supplied at each time when power is supplied to the heater 34 and the voltage generated in the thermopiles 32, 33 and operated by a battery which is a power supply to measure the flow rate of the fluid based on the flow velocity measured by the flow velocity measuring means 13A, the power supply means A supplies prescribed power to the heater 34, when the flow velocity measuring means 13 measures flow velocity exceeding prescribed flow velocity V0 and supplies power of less than the prescribed power to the heater 34, when the flow velocity measuring means 13A measures flow velocity below the prescribed flow velocity V0.
