    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relax the stress to be generated in a collector of a bipolar secondary battery.SOLUTION: This bipolar secondary battery has a power generating element formed by stacking a bipolar electrode 23, which has a positive electrode active material layer 13 formed in one surface of a collector 11 and a negative electrode active material layer 15 formed in the other surface of the collector 11, and a separator 17, and peripheral edge parts of the bipolar electrode 23 and the separator 17 are joined with each other through a seal part. In this bipolar secondary electrode, edges of the positive electrode active material layer 13 and the negative electrode active material layer 15 facing the collector 11 offset each other. An edge of a seal part facing the edge, which is positioned inside, of the edges of the positive electrode active material layer 13 and the negative electrode active material layer 15 offsetting each other is positioned inside of the edge, which is positioned outside, of the edges of the positive electrode active material layer 13 and the negative electrode active material layer 15 offsetting each other.
