    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a main electric discharging line so as to reduce the grade of dispersion of switch action time, by providing a small hole through which a laser beam passes in an anode and cathode arranged opposite to each other and providing discharge parts projecting from the small hole edge part opposite to each other. SOLUTION: A cathode 5 to which a high voltage HV is applied and a grounding anode 4 are arranged opposite to each other. Both cathode and anode are formed in hemispheres with their spherical surfaces opposed to each other and provided with small holes 4a, 5a penetrating at positions respectively shifted from the centers of respective hemispheres. A metallic mesh 6 is arranged near the entrance inside of the small hole 4a of the anode 4. On the other hand, a laser beam 2 from a laser unit 1 is regulated in its beam diameter by means of an aperture 3 and allowed to pass the abovementioned small holes 5a, 4a. By means of irradiation of this laser beam 2, photo electrons are discharged from the metallic mesh 6. These photo electrons are accelerated by an electric field between the cathode 5 and the anode 4 to ionize gas, act as a trigger, and top end parts 4b, 5b projecting from the small hole edge parts induce electric discharge acting as discharge part so as to make a switch conductive.
