    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an appropriate sense of depth to be obtained irrespective of viewing conditions of a stereoscopic image.SOLUTION: A parallax conversion apparatus acquires a viewing condition of a stereoscopic image to be displayed, and corrects parallax of the stereoscopic image based on the acquired viewing condition. Then, the parallax conversion apparatus converts the stereoscopic image so that the parallax of the stereoscopic image becomes the corrected parallax, and causes an image display apparatus to display it via a display control apparatus. At this time, the stereoscopic image is converted so that parallax of the converted stereoscopic image becomes parallax within a parallax range determined by the viewing condition. The present invention can be applied to an image processing apparatus.
