    • PURPOSE: To prevent a raw material from falling down from a grate and yet the grate from being clogged by a method wherein a lower layer is formed with granular lumps having comparatively larger diameter and an upper layer is formed with particles having comparatively smaller diameter by means of a sieving device.
      CONSTITUTION: Crushed lump-like raw material 5 in a feeding device 2 is cut-out by small portions by means of a cutting-out device such as roll feeder, gate or the like and falls along an inclined plane 10 in order to be supplied to a processing device 9 of crushed lump-like raw material. A grating-like sieving member 11 is mounted on the inclined plane 10. Out of the crushed lump-like raw material, particles 12 with small diameter pass through the sieving member 11 and fall down, while raw material 4 with large diameter slides on the inclined plane 10 without passing through the sieving member 11 and falls on a vacant grate 3. Because the grate 3 moves in the direction indicated with the arrow, the particles 12 with small diameter past through the sieving member 11 fall on the crushed lump-like raw material 4 with large diameter, which have fallen and been heaped up on the grate 3. Consequently, the clogging of the grate can be prevented and the reduction of cost can also be contrived.

    • PURPOSE:To distribute coarse grain raw material to the central part, and fine grain raw material to the peripheral part of a furnace by giving to the raw material kinetic energy in the radial direction of the furnace after the charged raw material is allowed to collide once with a bell and slide on the bell. CONSTITUTION:The raw material corresponding to one batch quantity is charged to an upper hoper 1 by opening a damper 5; the damper 5 is closed after charging and an equalizing valve 6 is opened to equalize the inside pressure of the hopper 4 to the inside pressure of the furnace 1. The raw material in the hopper 4 is dropped by opening the damper 9 through the inside of a lower hopper 8 via a feeding pipe 14 to collide vertically with the bell 3 at the top of the furnace, is slid on the bell 3, thus, the kinetic energy in the radial direction of the furnace 1 is given to the raw material. In this way, the coarse grain raw material is distributed to the central part of the furnace and the fine grain raw material is distributed to the peripheral part of the furnace.
