摘要： PURPOSE:To realize the video signal transmitter in which no missing frame or a redundant frame is in existence in the signal and no editing is required. CONSTITUTION:A known video signal such as a color signal or a luminance signal is sent prior to the transmission of a video signal and the known video signal is added after the video signal whose transmission is finished. A receiver 31 recognizes the start/end of the video signal to be sent by detecting the known video signal provided by a transmitter 30 and it is not required for the receiver 31 to write an undesired video signal onto a recording video tape. Furthermore, since the arrival of a write position of the video tape and the decoded video signal are synchronized, useless video tape recording is avoided for the receiver 31 and the video signal is recorded onto an accurate frame location.

Information of using a code, a picture element number, an aspect ratio and the use of the default table is written in a header file and no quantization table is written in a data file. Since picture information recorded on the memory card is reduced, the consecutive shot speed is quickened.

A coder 13 encodes the bit plane picture 22. This processing is repeated to encode the bit plane pictures 23, 24 thereby forming codes of the original picture. The picture to be reproduced is decoded in an optional order for each area by replacing the order of codes in the transmission.

A band compression encoded video code obtained from the variable length encoder circuit 16 is supplied to a code replacement circuit 39, and also, a refresh block control circuit 40 generates the code position signal of a refresh block, and supplies it to the code replacement circuit 39. The satisfactory reproducing image can be obtained by performing re-arrangement between the refresh block and a non-refresh block by the code replacement circuit 39 based on the video code and the code position signal, supplying them to an index insertion circuit 41. and accurately obtaining a signal to which inframe coding processing is applied when the fast reproduction is performed.
