    • PURPOSE:To improve durability through prevention of the occurrence of poor insulation due to heat and to reduce generation of a change in the resistance value of a coil, by a method wherein radiating fins are formed on the inner peripheral surface of an electromagnetic coil, the outer surface of a packing plate, and the outer periphery of the case of an electromagnetic coil mounting part. CONSTITUTION:Fins 71 are formed on the inner peripheral wall of a coil 7 and the side wall on the engine side, fins 72 are provided on the side wall on the other side of a packing plate 63, and fins 73 are formed on the outer peripheral wall of the case 10 of a coil engaging part. Joule heat, generated in an electromagnetic coil 7, and heat, generated due to dynamic friction, are radiated to prevent the coil 7 from being increased in temperature. Further, heat radiation fins 91, 92, and 93 serve to similarily prevent an electromagnetic coil 9 from being increased in temperature. This enables prevention of the occurrence of poor insulation due to heat, and permits the use of a coil which has low resistance to heat.

    • PURPOSE:To cover the range of reduction gear ratio 2-8 by employing a clutch case for small speed reduction by a structure wherein a planetary gear type reduction gear is housed in a space of comparatively large volume around an output shaft at the lower portion of a clutch. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 16 and an output shaft 19 are supported in parallel to each other at the upper part and lower portion of clutch cases 10 and 12. A large gear 35 supported onto the output shaft 19 is equipped integrally with a tubular small diametral external gear 37. A large diametral internal gear 38 is mounted to the clutch case 12 at the tip side of the large gear 35. Three fulcrum shafts 4 are provided parallel to the output shaft 19 on an outward extending flange 40 provided on the output shaft 19 between the large gear 35 and the internal gear 38 in order to form a planetary gear part 36 by engaging planetary gears 42 supported onto the fulcrum shafts 41 with the external gear 37 and the internal gear 38. When the input shaft 16 is rotated, the small diametral external gear 35 is rotated together with the large gear 35 through a small gear 26, resulting in revolving the planetary gears 42, which keep rotating about the respective own axes in the direction opposite to the input shaft 16 in the fixed large diametral internal gear and in driving the output shaft 19 through the fulcrum shafts 41 and the flange 40 under the conditions that its rotational speed is reduced while its rotational direction is reversed to that of the input shaft.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a hydraulic controller for an automatic transmission comprising a gear transmission mechanism and hydraulic frictional engagement units, by providing solenoid valves in oil passages for hydraulic changeover valves so that the solenoid valves are controlled in accordance with prescribed procedures. CONSTITUTION:An automatic transmission comprises a gear transmission mechanism and frictional engagement units attached to the mechanism and including clutches 12, 24, 25 (25a, 25b) and brakes 19, 26, 27, 41. Oil pressure supply to these frictional engagement units is changed to obtain various speed stages. A transmission controller is composed of a manual changeover valve 48, a primary and a secondary changeover valves 63, 71, an overdrive control valve 128, etc. Solenoid valves 73, 76 are provided in oil passages for conducting line oil pressure at the part 52 of the manual changeover valve 48 to the ports 68, 72 of the primary and the secondary changeover valves 63, 71. The opening and closing of the solenoid valves 73, 76 are regulated by an electric controller 79 in accordance with prescribed procedures.
