    • PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode-ray tube display device which is capable of preventing excessive beam current from flowing without causing the complication of a circuit and an increase in cost. CONSTITUTION:The DC potential of the carthode electrode K of a cathode-ray tube 1 is fixed. A video signal is supplied to the first grid electrode G1 of the cathode-ray tube 1 from a video amplifier 4 through a capacitor 9. By adjusting the DC potential of the first grid electrode G1 by a variable resistor 27, a brightness adjustment is performed. The needle of the variable resistor 27 is connected with the connection point of the variable resistor 27 and a variable resistor 28 for cut-off adjustment via a high resistance 32 with 2 MOMEGA or more, for instance. Even if prescribed DC potential is not impressed on the first grid electrode G1 by the needle of the variable resistor 27 due to the failure, etc., of the variable resistor 27, excessive beam current does not flow and the adverse influence on the cathode-ray tube 1 and a circuit is avoided because ground potential is impressed on the first grid electrode G1 via the variable resistor 28 and a resistor 32.

    • PURPOSE:To secure the reliability of a circuit and the stability of pictures by preventing the malfunction of output circuits without giving a large time constant to drive circuits of a horizontal output circuit and a high voltage output circuit. CONSTITUTION:The output of a horizontal oscillation circuit 11 is supplied to the base of a drive transistor TR 31. The collector of the TR 31 is connected to a power terminal 12 through a load resistor 32 and filters 13 and 14 which eliminate a pulse noise. The connection point between the collector of the TR 31 and the resistor 32 is connected to the gate of an output TR 51. The drain of the TR 51 is connected to the power terminal 12 through a primary winding 21a of a flyback transformer 21. A resonance capacitor 38 and a horizontal deflecting coil 40 are provided. The supply voltage of the drive circuit does not rise earlier than that of the oscillation circuit 11, and the malfunction that an excessive current flows to the horizontal output circuit can be prevented. It is unnecessary to give a large time constant to the drive circuit for the purpose of preventing the malfunction, and the stability of pictures is not degraded.

    • PURPOSE:To correct inverse trapezoidal shape distortion in an excellent way without causing remaining correction in the flat type cathode ray tube. CONSTITUTION:A sawtooth wave signal of a vertical period is applied from an output circuit 100 to a base of a transistor(TR) of a modulation circuit 300, a sawtooth wave signal generated at a latter half of the vertical period is applied from a generating circuit 200 to the emitter of the TR, and a synthesis signal of the two sawtooth wave signals is obtained at its collector. The latter half of the sawtooth wave signal of a vertical period is emphasized in the synthesis signal and a joint of the two sawtooth wave signals is subjected to smoothing processing by an integration circuit 311. An integration circuit 301 for AC feedback acts as enhancing the operating efficiency of the integration circuit 311. A voltage modulated by the synthesis signal for a DC voltage +B2 is obtained at an emitter of a TR 307 and the voltage is used for the power supply for a deflection circuit 7. A horizontal deflection current is more emphasized at a lower part of the screen in the deflection circuit 7 and inverse trapezoidal picture distortion is corrected without causing remaining correction at the lower part of the screen.
