    • PURPOSE:To achieve the evening of recording quality and increasing of recording speed by directly heating the toner thereby letting the same be melt-transferred to the medium to be recorded such as plain paper or other. CONSTITUTION:Toner is evenly coated on plain paper 1 throufh corona charging with a toner feeder 2. Next, when voltage below 15V is applied between an electrode pin 34 and a return circuit electrode 35 in a heating head 3 by a voltage control unit 36, the current runs through a high resistance layer 31 from the electrode pin 34 and enters the voltage control unit 36 from the condutive layer 32 and return circuit electrode 35. At the time when the current flows in the high resistance layer 31, Joule heat is generated and this heat is transmitted to the conductive layer 32, whereby the surface of the conductive layer 32 in contact with the toner is heated above the toner melting point. Hence, the toner is selectively heated and fused by controlling the voltage to be applied to the electrode pin 34 by the voltage control unit 36, whereby recording on plain paper is accomplished and this makes it possible to achieve evening of recording quality and increasing of recording speed.

    • PURPOSE:To enable uniform developing and transferring of a toner image by designating the width of a toner image supporting medium and positioning loading devices at optimum loading position. CONSTITUTION:A fixing roller 1 and an opposite roller 2 are supported parallel to a frame 3 and connected at one end with gear and rotated simultaneously. Plural loading devices 4, 5, 6 are provided in a space enclosed by a pressure bar 18 and the frame 3. The loading devices 5, 6 are movable in axial direction and driving belts 14, 15 are connected to move in axial direction of the fixing roller 1, and can be moved in axial direction by A, B motors 16, 17. On the other hand, the loading device 4 is fixed to axial direction. Magnets 7 are attached to loading devices 5, 6. Loading position of loading devices 5, 6 is detected by Hall element sensors 8-12 attached on a base plate 13 and shifted to specified position according to the width of the toner image supporting medium 19.

    • PURPOSE:To make continuous printing attainable even in case of paper sheets difference in size each with an operator unattended, by shifting a load roller of a pressure fixing part according to the width of paper in a selected cassette. CONSTITUTION:After data transmission of the second page is over, if cassette selection is changed over to B4 horizontal size at the lower step from A4 vertical size at the upper step, the discharge of the second page is checked by a paper discharge detecting sensor, then an A motor 36 is driven (35) in a clockwise direction while a B motor 37 is driven (34) in a counterclockwise direction respectively, whereby each of load rollers 25 and 26 of a pressure fixing part is shifted from an A4 vertical position to a B4 horizontal position and stopped thereat. After that, a B driving roller is operated, making the B4 size paper travel forward, and printing takes place by way of development, transfer and fixation processes, and when the discharge of the second page is detected by the said paper discharge detecting sensor, those of motor starting and print preparation signals are turned to OFF so that printing motion comes to a stop.

This wire 36 connects a light emitting unit of, for example, odd number of the array 32 mounted with a terminal at the opposite side to the terminal of the IC 34, and the wires 44, 45 connect both terminals to the wire 36. The wire 41 connects the light emitting unit of, for example, even number of the array 32 to the wire 46, which is connected via the wire 47 to the IC 33.
