    • PURPOSE:To enable uniform developing and transferring of a toner image by designating the width of a toner image supporting medium and positioning loading devices at optimum loading position. CONSTITUTION:A fixing roller 1 and an opposite roller 2 are supported parallel to a frame 3 and connected at one end with gear and rotated simultaneously. Plural loading devices 4, 5, 6 are provided in a space enclosed by a pressure bar 18 and the frame 3. The loading devices 5, 6 are movable in axial direction and driving belts 14, 15 are connected to move in axial direction of the fixing roller 1, and can be moved in axial direction by A, B motors 16, 17. On the other hand, the loading device 4 is fixed to axial direction. Magnets 7 are attached to loading devices 5, 6. Loading position of loading devices 5, 6 is detected by Hall element sensors 8-12 attached on a base plate 13 and shifted to specified position according to the width of the toner image supporting medium 19.

    • PURPOSE:To make continuous printing attainable even in case of paper sheets difference in size each with an operator unattended, by shifting a load roller of a pressure fixing part according to the width of paper in a selected cassette. CONSTITUTION:After data transmission of the second page is over, if cassette selection is changed over to B4 horizontal size at the lower step from A4 vertical size at the upper step, the discharge of the second page is checked by a paper discharge detecting sensor, then an A motor 36 is driven (35) in a clockwise direction while a B motor 37 is driven (34) in a counterclockwise direction respectively, whereby each of load rollers 25 and 26 of a pressure fixing part is shifted from an A4 vertical position to a B4 horizontal position and stopped thereat. After that, a B driving roller is operated, making the B4 size paper travel forward, and printing takes place by way of development, transfer and fixation processes, and when the discharge of the second page is detected by the said paper discharge detecting sensor, those of motor starting and print preparation signals are turned to OFF so that printing motion comes to a stop.

    • PURPOSE:To raise the utilizing efficiency of a toner by cutting a high voltage power source for primary electrostatic charge and simultaneously, irradiating the surface of a photosensitive body by a power source for printing data writing at stopping of a printing operation. CONSTITUTION:Printing is executed by an electrophotographic system, and first of all, the surface of a photosensitive drum is positively charged uniformly by a primary electrostatical charger 2, and subsequently, printing data is written in the photosensitive drum 1 by an optical write head 3. Write of the printing data is executed when an LED in the optical write head 3 emits light selectively in accordance with the printing data, and an image is formed by a convergent rod lens, etc. When the printing data is written, the photosensitive drum 1 generates a vanishng part of the surface charge like a dot pattern, and forms an electrostatic latent image of the printing data. This electrostatic latent image is converted to a visible image when a toner adheres to the vanishing part of the surface charge by a developing device 4.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the toner amount around a wire by providing diaphragms mounted in one body to electrostrictive elemnts to both ends of the wire, applying voltage to the one electrostrictive element to vibrate the wire and detecting the voltage generated in the other electrostrictive element. CONSTITUTION:A wire 4 is installed in a toner container, and both ends of said wire 4 are secured respectively to a diaphragm 3 mounted in one body to an oscillating element 2 and a diaphragm 6 mounted in one body to a vibration receiving element 7. Voltage of prescribed frequency is applied to the element 2 to vibrate the wire 4, and the voltage generated in the element 7 is detected. At this time, a voltage difference is generated in the output of the element 7 depending upon whether the wire 4 is within the toner or air, and therefore the presence or absence of the toner is judged by detecting this difference. Then, the need for cleaning means of the detecting elements is eliminated, and the change in the properties of the toner by the effect of heat does not occur.

In this constitution, the developing device 7 is put away from the carrier 1 when no development is performed and a permanent magnet 2b is rotated in the opposite direction of development to recover a developer in a developing area into the storage tank 3. Consequently, no unnecessary developer sticks on the carrier 1 and staining in the developer with the sticking developer is prevented.

Presence or absence of the developer 5 is detected by detecting variation of magnetic flux by the magnetic sensor 6, but when the agitator bar 7a moves near the magnetic sensor 6, the surface is swept so that the developer 5 does not stick on the magnetic sensor 6; the performance of the magnetic sensor 6 is stabilized and the agitator bar 7b moves near the wall surface H of the storage tank 2 nearby the upper part of the magnetic sensor 6 to prevent the developer from sticking thereupon, thereby stabilizing the detection state of the magnetic sensor 6.
