    • PURPOSE: To reduce contact parting time to enhance reliability by providing a movable-contact attractor consisting of a connecting piece located on the upper wall of a case and a movable contact placed on the lower wall of the case. CONSTITUTION: A movable-contact attractor 21 made of a magnetic material is adapted to attract a movable contact 7 and is formed into an approximately U shape from opposite pieces 21a, 21a and a connecting piece 21b. The attractor 21 is integrated with a yoke 15 and a second arc traveling plate 20 by welding, etc., with the connecting piece 21b located on the parting side of the contact 7 (the upper wall 1e of a case 1) and with the contact 7 placed on the open side of the connecting piece 21b (the lower wall 1f of the case 1). Magnetic flux generated from current flowing through the contact 7 flows through the attractor 21, and the contact 7 is attracted to the attractor 21 according to the density of the magnetic flux. Therefore, parting speed is increased and the contacts can be opened in a short time, and when opened the contact 7 is held in the open position by the attractor 21 as long as a current is kept flowing by an arc; the arc is extinguished readily.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent plastic deformation of a bimetal by fixing a middle part in the longitudinal direction of the bimetal, and supporting a spring member between a latch movable member and an end part on the opposite side to a latch movable member driving side of the bimetal. CONSTITUTION:When abnormal current is not supplied, a stop member 9 is stopped by a latch movable member 13 in a latch condition. When the abnormal current is supplied, one end part 15a of a bimetal 15 which is fixed to a terminal plate 16 at a middle part in its longitudinal direct is flexed counterclockwise, while an end part 15b on the other side is flexed clockwise, so the latch movable member 13 rotates counterclockwise against spring force of a spring member 14, and a counter part 9a for the stop member 9 is removed from a stop part 13a of the latch movable member 13 for performing trip action. In case a temperature rise occurs at the bimetal 15, therefore, both sides of its middle part are flexed, so if tolerance of the bimetal 15 is reduced, stress applied on the bimetal 15 by the spring member 14 is also reduced, thereby the stress applied on the bimetal 15 is hard to exceed its tolerable stress.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembly work of a circuit breaker so as to facilitate the automatic assembly thereof as compared with the case where a draw spring is used, so that the mass-producibility of the circuit breaker may be raised to reduce the manufacturing cost thereof by compressively interposing a reversing spring between a cradle and a movable contact-maker. CONSTITUTION:A compressed reversing-spring 46 is suspended between spring- bearing portions 44 and 45 provided to both of a movable contact-maker 38 and a cradle 31. When a movable contact-point 41 and a stationary contact-point 42 are closed and also when the locking portion 37 of the cradle 31 is locked in the locking bearing portion 51 of an abnormal current detecting means 14, the spring 46 applies contact pressure between both contact-points. When the locking portion 37 is released from the bearing portion 51 of the means 14, the spring makes its reverse movement so that the contact-maker 38 and the cradle 31 may be rotated in a direction wherein the contact-point 41 is detached from the contact point 42. The use of a compressed spring for the reversing spring 46 can facilitate the assembly work of arranging component members and locking the members with one another or the like so as to make even the automatic assembly.
