CONSTITUTION:Current signals IX1 and IX2 are voltage-converted and amplified by amplifiers 7 and 8 and then inputted to a subtracter 9 and an adder 10 at the same time, and their outputs are inputted to a divider 11 to perform position arithmetic. Position information obtained as the output of the divider 11 is inputted as the X coordinate of a light point to the computer. At this time, the output of the adder 10 is constant when the light point is on a PSD (position sensing device) and 0 when the light point disappears from on the PSD. For the purpose, the output of the adder 10 is supplied to a binarization circuit 14 to detect whether there is the light point on the PSD or not. Further, a gate circuit 13 which receives the output of the circuit 14 as a control input and the output of an A/D converter 12 as a signal input is provided to inhibit data from being expelled when there is no light point on the PSD.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the change of position of reflected light from the surface of a screw surely by irradiating light on the surface of a screw, receiving reflected light by a main photo-electric element and photo-electric elements for tracking arranged on both sides and making surface inspection controlling unbalance of output signals of the photo-electric elements for tracking within a specified value. CONSTITUTION:In a controlling circuit device, specified values +DELTAV, -DELTAV are set for output signals 13 by comparators 14, 16 and controlling signals 15, 17 are generated when output signals 13 exceed the values. It is possible to judge to which side reflected laser beam 5 is deviated from the center of the main photo-electric element depending on which one out of controlling signals 15, 17 comes out. Accordingly, the direction of moving of an actuator (not shown in the figure) that moves the main photo-electric element 2 and photo-electric elements 2A, 2B is determined by controlling signals 15, 17. Reflected light utilized by photo-electric elements 2A, 2B is feeble light 5A which is not utilized by the main photo-electric element 2, and does not give influences on essential signals for the surface inspection.

CONSTITUTION:Carriers 2a movable in the width direction on an overbridge type gantry 1a on the pass line between hot finishing rolling mills. Intermediate movable frames 5a and 5b, which are vertically moved by cylinders 12a, 12b and a distance between the frames 5a, 5b is adjusted by a gap setting cylinder, are installed on the inside face of a couple of vertical frames 2b facing each other. The frames 2b are suspended from the carriers 2a. The frames 5a, 5b are provided with heating faces 6c, 6d vertically moved by copying cylinders 9a, 9b. The heating faces 6c, 6d to which a steel strip 22 exists hold a proper gap against the strip 22 by actions of the above cylinders 9a, 9b. End parts of the strip 22 are heated with a temp. rise of the heating faces 6c, 6d by induction heating inductors 15a, 15b. Therefore, the rolling quality of the rolled strip 22 whose both end parts are easily cooled is made to be uniform and good.

    • PURPOSE:To inspect the surface of a screw and to discriminate simply the position of a tube end by projecting and scanning luminous flux in the axial direction with respect to the tube on the end of which the screw is processed and catching reflected light from a screw part. CONSTITUTION:The titled instrument is provided with a follow-up mechanism to make a photodetector follow up a directional change of the reflected light from the screw part, a tube end photodetector 16 to photodetect rays of light deviated from the tube end and a signal processor. Then, a photodetection part is followed up with the follow-up mechanism to that the photodetection part catches the reflected light under a prescribed condition based on the output electrical signals from plural photodetectors 14l and 14r for follow-up provided at both sides of the photodetection part. Further, the luminous flux projected on the position exceeding the tube end is photodetected with the photodetector 16. Then, the reflected light from the screw part is caught with the photodetection part and the electrical signal which is converted photoelectrically from the light is subjected to binarization processing with a waveform shaper 21 and a pulse train obtained as the output of the shaper 21 is received to measure the pulse width with time width measuring instruments 24 and 25. The existence or nonexistence of a defect of the screw surface is decided based on the pulse width. Further, the output of the photodetector 16 is inputted to a deciding device 26 and used for deciding the existence or nonexistence of the defect of the screw surface.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the inspection of a surface flaw without lowering detection accuracy, by receiving light by following reflected light by an apparatus for rotating and transferring a material to be inspected even if the light irradiation position on the surface of the material to be inspected changes. CONSTITUTION:When reflected light changes to the lower side in a circumferential direction, the light receiving quantity of a lower side light receiving part 3c is reduced and that of an upper side light receiving part 3b becomes much. Light receiving parts 3b, 3c respectively output electric signals with levels corresponding to the respective light receiving quantities to sample hold circuits 6, 7 and, when the circuits 6, 7 input the hold order signal from a light scanner controller 5, said circuits 6, 7 hold the respective output signals of the light receiving parts 3b, 3c and output the same to a differential amplifier 8 until the next hold order signal is inputted. The amplifier 8 amplifies a difference signal portion to a servo amplifier 13 which, in turn, rotates a servo motor 9 on the basis of the input signal and the light receiver 3 is downwardly revolved through a guide rail 11 to allow reflected light to enter the light receiving parts 3b, 3c in the same quantity. By this method, the lowering in detection accuracy an be prevented.
