    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the protruding length of a glass bulb upper part and ensure an air passage by extending one conductor, and engagingly locking its tip to the neck part on the top end of the glass bulb through a bead. SOLUTION: An automobile bulb 1 is formed of a glass bulb 2 the opening of which is sealed by a base 3, and a traveling beam filament 4, a conductor 5 for the same, a passing beam filament 6, a conductor 7 for the same, a shield 8, and a common conductor 9 collectively sealed within the glass bulb 2. A halogen gas is also sealed therein. The tip of the common conductor 9 (upper end) is engagingly locked by the glass bulb 2 through a bead 10. The common conductor 9 has a locking protruding part on the upper part, and a linear part formed above it, and the bead 10 is fitted to the linear part, and the outermost circumferential part of the bead 10 is brought into contact with the inner surface of the neck part of the glass bulb 2. Since the height dimension of the bead 10 is small, the protruding height of the neck part is minimized. Thus, a small- sized bulb can be easily manufactured.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an automatic dimming device which automatically turns on the direction indication lamp, and switches the headlight from the traveling beam to the passing beam depending upon the vehicle speed and dims the light. CONSTITUTION:The automatic dimming device for a headlight is constituted of a battery 44 for supplying the electric power to the headlight and a direction indication lamp, headlight putting-ON circuit, direction indication lamp putting-ON circuit 42 for putting ON the right or left direction indication lamp, car speed detecting circuit 52 which generates the output signal from the relation of the vehicle speed for a previously determined standard speed, and a dimming control circuit 50, and the dimming control circuit 50 puts ON either a right direction indication lamp putting ON signal or a left direction indication lamp putting ON signal. When the car speed detecting circuit 52 detects the traveling speed less than a standard speed, a prescribed output is supplied to a dimmer switch 48, and switches the traveling beam to the passing beam.
