No torsion acts to the carriage 50, enabling the carriage to scan smoothly. Since a slide load of the carriage 50 is reduced, a mechanism related to the reciprocating scan of the carriage 50 is improved in durability.

Since the head cartridge 7 is pressed by the roller 59 projecting slightly from the side face of the head holder 51, the positioning and electric contact of the head cartridge is achieved more surely. In this state, images can be formed to a sheet material.
