    • A flow switch assembly features a two-part base assembly having lower and upper base parts. The lower base part is made from a metallic material, adapted on piping having a fluid flow, and configured with a central orifice to receive a paddle arm that pivots on an axis and responds to fluid flow in the piping. The upper base part is made from a non-metallic material, configured with a corresponding central orifice to receive the paddle arm, and configured with a channel to receive a pivot arm to mount and allow the paddle arm to pivot on the axis to actuate an ON/OFF switch in response to fluid flow. The non-metallic material has a lower coefficient of heat transfer than the metallic material to reduce condensation build-up in the flow switch assembly when the flow switch assembly is used in cold applications and exposed to temperatures below freezing.

    • The invention provides water sterilising apparatus (10) adapted to employ the process of heavy metal sterilisation and including a body (11) defining a chamber (12) formed with spaced inlet and outlet openings (13, 14) whereby water may be caused to flow through the chamber; a silver anode (15) to coact with at least one cathode (16) spacedly mounted in said chamber for release of Ag+ ions to the flow of water therebetween; electric circuit means (17) including power cell means (18) associated with said body and connected to said electrodes (15, 16); an on/off switch (20) in said circuit means (17) normally disposed inoperatively so that the circuit is open when water is not entering said chamber (12) at said inlet opening (13), and a switch-actuating valve assembly (21) mounted movably adjacent said inlet opening, said valve assembly being normally urged in biased manner to a position in which it closes the inlet opening (13) but adapted to be moved against said bias by water caused to flow through said inlet opening whereby said water enters and passes through said chamber and out said outlet opening, and the parts being so made and arranged that movement of said switch-actuating valve assembly (21) to open the inlet opening (13) causes said normally-open switch (20) to be closed to complete the circuit.

    • A magnetically operated flow detector for liquids comprises a housing (11;30) inside which a piston (14) is movable due to the flow of the liquid to be detected, a permanent magnet (16) disposed inside said housing (11) and a magnetic sensor (19;32) disposed outside said housing and adapted to be actuated by the magnetic field of said permanent magnet (16).
      The permanent magnet (16) has a toroidal shape and is mounted at a fixed location, whereas the piston (14) carries a cylinder (18) of a magnetic material disposed inside the magnet, that offers a lower reluctance path to the field lines of said magnet (16). The device can be integrated in a hydraulic group for system supplying both heating and sanitary hot water, comprising a three-way valve controlled by a linear electric actuator.
