    • A synchronous rectification control unit and a method for synchronous rectification control are presented. The synchronous rectification control unit includes a voltage pulse generation circuit (26) configured to measure a current I in a circuit (200) including a power switch (50), and to output a logic high value for a first voltage V1 (28), if the current I has a positive change rate adjacent to a value of zero for the current I, or to output a logic high value for a second voltage V2 (29) if the current I has a negative change rate adjacent to a value of zero for the current I. The synchronous rectification control unit also includes a control algorithm circuit (27) configured to generate first and second synchronous pulse width modulation, PWM, control signals SQ1 (32) and SQ2 (33), and based on first and second non-synchronous PWM control signals Q1 (30) and Q2 (31), and based on the first voltage V1 (28) and said second voltage V2 (29), the first and second synchronous PWM control signals SQ1 (32) and SQ2 (33) being usable for controlling switching of the power switch (50).

    • A zero-crossing detection circuit includes a comparator and circuitry. The comparator produces an output signal that is indicative of zero-crossing events in an input Alternating Current (AC) waveform. The circuitry may be configured to feed the comparator with first and second rails voltages, and to progressively increase the rails voltages during time intervals derived from the input AC waveform, so as to feed the comparator with target values of the rails voltages in time-proximity to the zero-crossing events. The circuitry may be configured to compensate for an error in detecting the zero crossing events caused by differences in amplitude of the input AC waveform, by correcting the input AC waveform provided to the comparator. The circuitry may be configured to activate the comparator during time intervals preceding respective anticipated times of the zero-crossing events, and to deactivate the comparator at least once during time periods other than the time intervals.
