    • A head position control device controls the position of a head with respect to a disk where a post code 25 is assigned to a servo frame 16. Servo frames of a disk is constituted by a servo frame not having a post code recorded in an inner side zone 4-2 and a servo frame having a post code recorded in an outer side zone 4-1. The device reads the servo frame, demodulates a current position from the servo frame, drives an actuator 3 according to the modulated position, and controls the position of the head to a target position. While implementing a high TPI, the inspection time for post codes can be decreased with a servo frame occupying ratio in consideration of the data format.

The method comprises the steps of: -determining a shock sensitivity function (SSHOCK) which describes the relationship between shocks (OExT) and said error signal; determining or at least approximating an inverse shock sensitivity function (S-1SHOCK) as the inverse of said shock sensitivity function (SSHOCK); - and applying said inverse shock sensitivity function (S1-SHOCK) on said error signal.
