Dabei sind am äusseren Mantelbereich die Grautöne, am innern Mantelbereich die bunten Farben vorgesehen. Im Innern des Körpers durchlaufen die bunten Farben die Farbtonstufen bis zu den Grautönen. Durch ein iteratives Verfahren für Anordnung der Farbtöne im Torus ist es möglich, nicht nur die Farbtöne für das menschliche Auge gleichabstädig abzustufen, sondern auch z.B. die Brauntöne zuverlässig darzustellen.

The discrete elements (12) may be physically assembled to form a three-dimensional cuboidal model (10) and disassembled to enable visualization of the interior elements of the model (10). The model (10) enables development of an intuitive understanding of color theory and facilitates mapping of a selected color from one color medium (such as a computer color monitor) to another color medium (such as a photographic slide).
