    • The present invention relates to a gun (100) for using compressed gas to propel an arrow (101), comprising:
      a hollow barrel (107) adapted to accommodate the arrow (101), said barrel having an open rear end (107b) and an open front end (107a); and
      a cylindrical chamber (108) having a front end (1 08a) through which the barrel (107) extends, a closed rear end (108b), and a gas inlet (114) for connecting said cylindrical chamber (108) to a source of compressed gas (113),

      wherein said cylindrical chamber (108) is adapted to hermetically enclose the open rear end (1 07b) of said barrel and is axially movable between a non-firing position where said closed rear end (1 08b) of the cylindrical chamber sealingly engages the open rear end (1 07b) of the barrel, and a firing position where the closed rear end (1 08b) of said cylindrical chamber is displaced from the open rear end (1 07b) of the barrel to allow compressed gas to pass into said barrel (107) via the open rear end (107b) of the barrel so as to propel the arrow (101) out the open front end (1 07a) of said barrel.
      The gun has a simple and robust construction, and has a well-balanced behavior during use.

    • A toy gun gas intake control mechanism (D) includes a holder frame (1), an impact member (2) having an elongated base (21) pivoted with its bottom end to the holder frame (1), a striking block (22), a pivot axle (24) that pivotally connects the striking block (22) to the top end of the elongated base (21) and a first spring member (51) for revering the striking block (22), a retaining block (4) supported on a second spring member (52) in the holder frame (1) and having a retaining notch (41) for retaining the outer end (241) of the pivot axle (24). When firing a bullet, the bolt body (C) of the toy gun moves forwards, the striking block (22) strikes a seal member (B1) to open a gas inlet (C11), and the pivot axle (24) is moved out of the retaining notch (41) of the retaining block (4) for allowing upward displacement of the retaining block (4). When the bolt body (C) moves backward after firing, the retaining block (4) is forced downwards to the inside of the holder frame (1) by the bolt body (C), the outer end (241) of the pivot axle (24) is engaged into the retaining notch (41), and the striking block (22) is returned, causing the seal member (B1) to close the gas inlet (C11) again.

    • Rifle (1) comprises barrel (2) and loading means (15) for introducing a projectile from magazine (7) into breech (4). The projectile is propelled by a compressed gas propellant initially stored as a liquid in canister (10). The liquid is heated to a super critical state in chamber (8) by heating element (12) to induce a phase change such that the liquid becomes a highly dense gas. The phase change from liquid to gas provides the energy required to expel the projectile at high velocity from rifle (1), regardless of the ambient temperature. The propellant is preferably CO2 which is heated to 31.06 °C. Rifle (1) produces minimal noise and no heat signature, making it suitable for military and stealth purposes. A pistol and launchers for grenades or mortar bombs are also disclosed. Another version can launch low earth orbit satellites or payloads.

    • The pneumatically operated projectile launching device is preferably comprised of three principal elements: a body (40) which houses and interconnects all of the pneumatic components and also houses the electrical power source (33), a grip mounted to the body which includes an electrical switch (30) that activates a launching sequence, and an electrical control unit housed within both the body and the grip which directs flow between the pneumatic components to load, cock and fire the gun. The body preferably contains a plurality of chambers (1) in communication with each other including a chamber (2) containing and distributing pressurized gas, a chamber (11) containing a compressed gas storage chamber and mechanisms (12, 13) for filling the storage chamber with gas and releasing gas from the storage chamber to fire the projectile, and a chamber (3) containing mechanisms for loading and launching the projectile (41). The electrical control unit preferably includes an electrical power source (33) which activates an electrical timing circuit (34) when the electrical switch (30) is closed, and two electrically operated pneumatic flow distribution devices (35, 36, 37) which are sequentially energized by the electrical timing circuit to enable the loading of a projectile (41) for launching and to release compressed gas from the storage chamber (11) to fire the projectile, respectively.
