摘要： The present invention provides a plasma generator provided with a mixing circuit, said plasma generator being reduced in size and capable of being easily installed in a restricted space inside an engine. The present invention is a heat engine or a plasma generator provided with an ignition coil for supplying a discharge voltage, an electromagnetic wave oscillator that generates electromagnetic waves, a mixer that mixes energy for discharge with electromagnetic wave energy, and a spark plug that causes a discharge and introduces the electromagnetic wave energy to a reaction region. The discharge and electromagnetic wave energy are used together in the reaction region, wherein a combustion reaction or plasma reaction is carried out, triggering a combustion reaction or plasma reaction. The plasma generator is characterized in that part of a member that constitutes the spark plug is used as part of a member that forms the mixer.

摘要： A plasma ignition plug for an internal combustion engine has a thorium alloyed tungsten anode separated from a vanadium- or beryllium-alloyed copper cathode by a boron nitride ceramic powder insulator. A generally semi-spherical titanium emitter is electrically coupled to the anode and disposed within an end of the insulator so as to form an annular gap with a torus on the end of the cathode. The surface of the emitter protrudes slightly beyond the rim of the torus on the cathode. High amplitude pulses driven into the anode arc across the annular gap to the cathode at more than twenty-four spots simultaneously, generating a plasma ignition front.

摘要： An ignition system (31) includes a spark plug (1), a discharge power supply (32), and an AC power supply (33). The spark plug (1) includes an insulator (2) having an axial hole (4), an electrode (8) disposed in the axial hole (4) and having a tip end located frontward of a tip end of the insulator (2), a metal shell (3) disposed on a periphery of the insulator (2), and a ground electrode (27) fixed to a tip end portion of the metal shell (3) and forming a spark discharge gap (28) between the tip end portion of the electrode (8) and the ground electrode (27). Voltage from the discharge power supply (32) and AC power from the AC power supply (33) are supplied to the spark discharge gap (28) through the electrode (8), and the AC power from the AC power supply (33) is applied to a spark generated by the voltage from the discharge power supply (32) in the spark discharge gap (28). Consequently, energy is efficiently applied to a spark without causing an increase in manufacturing cost, and ignitability can be dramatically improved.

摘要： The object is to provide an injector with a built-in ignition device that can achieve downsize of device as a whole without changing significantly the structure of a fuel injection device. The injector with the built-in ignition device comprises an ignition device 3 and a fuel injection device 2. In the ignition device 3, an electromagnetic wave oscillated from an electromagnetic wave oscillator MW is boosted by a booster that is constituted by a resonance structure, a potential difference between a ground electrode 51 and a discharge electrode 31 is increased, and a discharge is caused. In the fuel injection device 2, a valve body part of a nozzle needle 24 is moved toward or away from a valve seat (orifis) 23a, and thereby, the fuel injection control is performed. Then, the resonance structure is formed by a dielectric member 30 that is connected to the electromagnetic wave oscillator and formed on the surface of a fuel injection pipe 21, and an inner wall surface 50a of a mounting port 50 for an injector of a cylinder head 5. A discharge electrode 31 is a projection that is formed on the surface of the fuel injection pipe 21, and a discharge is caused by making a position of the wall surface of the mounting port 5 that is closest to the discharge electrode 31 as a ground electrode 51.

摘要： An ignition system improves an air-fuel-ratio, i.e., good mileage and lean burn without changing a gasoline engine structure significantly. The ignition system comprises an electromagnetic wave generator including a first output part and a second output part configured to output an electromagnetic wave, a discharge device comprising a booster and a discharger provided at an output side of the booster, the booster having a resonance structure configured to boost an electromagnetic wave inputted from the first output part so as to cause a discharge from the discharger, and an electromagnetic wave emitter configured to emit an electromagnetic wave inputted from the second output part. The electromagnetic wave generator decreases an output power from the first output part, while the electromagnetic wave generator increases the output power from the second output part when an amount of a reflected wave from the discharge device exceeds a predetermined value.
