摘要： In order to sufficiently prevent escape of noise generated by a resin block belt to the outside, a belt-type continuously variable transmission 17 includes a primary sheave 51, a secondary sheave 52, a resin block belt 55, and a transmission case 61. The resin block belt 55 is wound around the primary sheave 51 and the secondary sheave 52. The transmission case 61 defines the section of a belt chamber 38 accommodating the primary sheave 51, the secondary sheave 52, and the resin block belt 55. The transmission case 61 includes an exhaust passage 65, intake passages 98 and 99, and a sound absorbing member 36. The sound absorbing member 36 is attached to the inner wall of the exhaust passage 65 in such a position as to collide with sound wave traveling through the exhaust passage 65. The sound absorbing member 36 has a sound absorbing surface 36a crossing an extending direction A1 of the exhaust passage 65.

The derailleur, located between the peculiar position of the two cog sets (2,3), is the latest, the newest and a very important device. Both cog sets (2,3) have parallel and reversed rotating axles so that the big diameter cog (5), located on the primary cog set (2) corresponds to the small diameter cog (6), located on the secondary cog set (3). The primary cog set is assembled on the primary axle and is linked to the secondary cog set by means of a primary looping ring roller chain (8); the secondary cog set (3) supports the single external cog (15), linked to the rear wheel by means of the secondary chain (8). When the derailleur is externally activated, it shifts the primary chain (8) to the primary and the secondary cog sets (2,3), having different diameters, so as to change gear.
