    • A railway transportation power supply construction, comprising a power supply rail (1) and a return current rail (2) respectively secured on two sides of an insulating base (3) and isolated by the insulating base (3). A power supply arm (6) and a return current arm (7) are mounted to a bogie (12) of a vehicle (9) and insulated from the vehicle body by means of insulation rings (8), and the bogie is provided with a drive mechanism (10). The power supply arm (6) has a front end connected to one end of an input port of the drive mechanism (10), and a terminal end in contact with the power supply rail (1). The return current arm (7) has a front end connected to the other end of the input port of the drive mechanism (10), and a terminal end in contact with the return current rail (2). During operation of the vehicle, the power supply arm (6) has friction with the power supply rail (1) to be powered, and the return current arm (7) has friction with the return current rail (2), thus enabling the vehicle (9) to travel through a junction section with uninterrupted power supply while the structure and operating condition of a junction remain unchanged. The construction can be used to modify existing urban rail transit systems, such as a subway or light rail system, or electrification railway systems, and also be used in building new railway lines.

    • An electrical connector is disclosed with an expanding dowel pin for fastening onto a metal support. The electrical connector includes a dowel pin body (A) of stepped tubular shape, which may be inserted in the bore of the rail and bear against the rail at the shoulder of the step. A threaded stud (B) including a taper (7) interacts with the bore (11) of the dowel pin body locally to expand the dowel pin body radially in the bore (3) of the rail (2). A nut (9) on the threaded end of the stud (B) axially draws the stud to achieve such expansion when tightened. A conductor (10) is joined to the dowel pin by overmolding (12) of a metal alloy which is preferably melted and cast in the factory, enveloping the end of the conductor and part of the dowel pin body and yet spaced some distance from the end bearing faces of the dowel pin body.
