摘要： An adjustable height suspension system for a vehicle is disclosed. A pivot arm has a first end pivotably connected to the vehicle frame about a pivot axis. A shock absorber assembly is connected to the frame at a first connection point and connected to the pivot arm at a second connection point. An air spring is connected to the frame at a third connection point and connected to the pivot arm at a fourth connection point. The fourth connection point is closer to the pivot axis than the second connection point. The air spring has at least one inlet and at least one outlet provided by at least one opening. A valve selectively communicates the interior of the air spring to the atmosphere via the outlet. An adjustable height suspension system having first and second pivot arms and first and second air springs is also described.

The system also includes control means for controlling relative movement between the balance mechanism and the body. The control means act to redistribute suspension forces between the body and the wheels, thereby to induce predetermined suspension behaviour.

摘要： The invention relates to a sway brace on rail vehicles. The aim of the invention is to find a solution in which the effort and expense needed to produce the sprung sway braces can be reduced and the transverse forces and the resultant wear occurring on deflection can be reduced to the minimum. This is achieved by the invention in that one end of the sprung sway braces in a special design is arranged in a support with defined guide surfaces (13), while the other end is secured to the piston (6) of a hydraulic cylinder (7) via an axial rocker bearing (15). In addition, there is a disc spring column (17) above the sway brace.

摘要： A dampening assembly (10) for retrofit or original construction with a gas or hydraulic shock absorber having annular sleeve (14) in sliding engagement over inner sleeve (13). A single coil spring (26) is telescoped over the annular sleeve of the shock absorber that has at least a pair of longitudinal slots (17), the coil spring ends are maintained between flanges of a pair of sliding retaining clips (18, 19) that are telescoped over the sleeve that includes inwardly projecting fingers (20, 21). The fingers each engage a slot end and extend therebeyond to engage an inner side of a pair of guide rings (28a, 28b) that are secured in spaced arrangement around the inner sleeve, the distance between which opposite guide ring inner sides is equal to the longitudinal slot length. The fingers are in overlapping engagement with the slot ends for maintaining clip positioning with the coil spring compressed therebetween.

摘要： An independent wheel suspension system for a motor vehicle includes a trailing arm (70) mounted for pivotal resilient movement through pivotal connecting members (72, 74), carried in the vehicle chasis (78). Resilient pivotal connection to a strut assembly (10) is effected through ball stud (56). The configuration and positioning of the trailing arm (70) and its mountings (72, 74, 56) elevates the vehicle roll center and reduces toe-out of the vehicle wheels during recession. An economical stamped support structure (20) having a spindle support member (36) and a strut support member (38) is utilized in the system. A combination spring seat and steering arm (22) is fixed to the top of the strut support member (38).
