摘要： A trans-axial cuffing apparatus used for cutting an inner surface of an opening formed within an object and accessible from outside the object. The apparatus comprises an elongate portable frame (128). The frame (128) supports a cutting member (136) on the first side and a stabilizing member (144) on the second side. The stabilizing member (144) is adapted to secure the apparatus during operation of the cutting member (136). The apparatus may be used to cut a counter bore (76, fog.5), a longitudinal slot or groove at a desired depth, a helical slot or groove at a desired depth, a helical slot or groove at a desired depth and along a desired path within tire opening. Additionally, the apparatus is adapted to make any of the preceding cuts in a tapered or stepped manner within the opening of the object.

摘要： A compact coupling reaming apparatus (100) and method for reaming coupling bolt holes (14) of a rotor coupling. The apparatus includes a fixture plate (30) for mounting the apparatus to the face of the coupling via a plurality of the coupling bolt holes. The apparatus also includes a drill (92) axially slidably, radially slidably, and axially rotatably mounted to the fixture plate. During the reaming process, the drill is first aligned with the center of a first coupling bolt hole, the drill having a fixed distance from an axis of the rotor after being aligned with the center of the first coupling bolt hole. After reaming the first coupling bolt hole, the drill is aligned with a center of the holes and all other coupling bolt holes to be reamed by axially rotating the drill to the center of the second coupling bolt hole while maintaining the fixed distance of the drill from the axis of the rotor.

摘要： An apparatus particularly suitable for countersinking rivet holes preformed at circumferential spacings in the fuselage (30) of an airplane and in annular reinforcing ribs (31) of H-shaped cross sectioon in the fuselage at axial spacings. The apparatus comprises a frame (41) wsith a toolhead (22) mounted thereto, and a carrier arm (1) cantilevered to the frame for insertion in the fuselage and reinforcing ribs. For making possible the speedily countersinking of two annular rows of rivet holes formed in those parts of the outer flange of each reinforcing rib (31) which are on the opposite sides of its web, a fluid motor (5) and a fluid-actuated cylinder (6) are supported on the distal end of the cantilevered carrier arm (1). The cylinder has a piston rod (6b) to which there is coupled an offset anvil assembly (15) for pressing the fuselage and a rib against the toolhead (22). the piston rod (6b), together with the anvil assembly (15) thereon, is not only linearly displaceable but also rotatable about its own axis. The fluid motor (5) is geared to the piston rod for revolving the anvil assembly through an angle of at le3ast 180 degrees.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for assembling two assemblies, e.g. aircraft fuselage assemblies, using a plurality of fixation members. The method comprises drilling openings in an overlap area using a drilling tool and through a corresponding centring opening (36) formed in a drilling grid (34) rigidly mounted on said overlap area, wherein the drilling tool includes a bearing mandrel as well as an expansible ring (56) in tight contact with the mandrel along a conical contact surface. According to the invention, a relative movement is applied between the expansible ring and the mandrel in order to create, after locking the ring in the centring opening, a displacement of the mandrel, bearing against the overlap area, through the centring opening and in the direction of the overlap area in order to apply a pressure thereon.
