摘要： Whether or not a lead wire has been normally cut and clinched can be reliably detected. A contact pipe is arranged in lead wire insertion holes of a pair of fixed pawls in a state of being electrically insulated from the fixed pawls. In a case where the lead wire is shorter than a set length after the lead wire is inserted into the lead wire insertion holes, a clearance of the pair of lead wire insertion holes is widened by a set amount in the event of outward bending of the lead wire and is narrowed by a set amount in the event of inward bending (S4). A cut-and-clinch operation is performed with S4 bypassed in a case where the length of the lead wire is at least the set length (S5) . In any case, if conduction between the fixed pawl and the contact pipe by the lead wire is detected in both of the fixed pawls in any of S2 to S5, the lead wire insertion is determined to have been normally performed (S6) and a transition to the next operation is made (S7). In the event of no conduction detection, an abnormality is determined and an electronic-circuit-component mounting machine is stopped (S8).

摘要： A natural-resource-conservative, environmentlaly-friendly, cost-effective, leadless semiconductor packaging apparatus (1000), having superior mechanical and electrical properties, and having an optional windowed housing which uniquely seals and provides a mechanism for viewing the internally packaged integrated semiconductor circuits (chips/die) (40). A uniquely stamped and/or bent lead-frame (30, 41) is packaged by a polymeric material (12) during a unique compression-modling process using a mold, specially contoured to avoid the common 'over-packaging' problem in related art techniques. The specially contoured mold facilitates delineation of the internal portions from the external portions of the lead-frame, as the external portions are the effective solderable areas that contact pads on a printed circuit board, thereby avoiding a laborious environmentally-unfriendly masking step and de-flashing step, streamlining the device packaging process. The compression-mold effectively provides a compressive sealing orifice from which the effective solderable areas of the lead-frame may extend and be exposed and, thus, avoid being coated with the polymer which is uniquely contained by the mold for packaging the internal portions of the lead-frame. The lead-frame is uniquely stamped and/or bent, conforming it to electro-mechanical requirements of a particular semiconductor product. By uniquely stamping and/or bending, the related art 'half-etching' of the lead for conforming it to electro-mechanical requirements of the packaged semiconductor product is no longer required. Environmental enhancement is achieved by conserving natural resources and by eliminating hazardous material by products otherwise liberated in related art packaging techniques.

摘要： Efficient methods for lithographically fabricating spring structures onto a substrate (301) containing contact pads or metal vias (305) by forming both the spring metal and release material layers using a single mask. Specifically, a pad of release material (310) is self-aligned to the spring metal finger (320) using a photoresist mask or a plated metal pattern, or using lift-off processing techniques. A release mask is then used to release the spring metal finger while retaining a portion of the release material that secures the anchor portion of the spring metal finger to the substrate. When the release material is electrically conductive (e.g., titanium), this release material portion is positioned directly over the contact pad or metal via, and acts as a conduit to the spring metal finger in the completed spring structure. When the release material is non-conductive, a metal strap is formed to connect the spring metal finger to the contact pad or metal via, and also to further anchor the spring metal finger to the substrate.
