    • There are provided a method and a facility for separating and recovering a steel pipe and a covering resin in a resin-covered steel pipe (1), which do not produce cuttings of the steel pipe (2) and which make it possible to continuously operate the facility. The method comprises the steps of using a cut line forming means (26b) installed forwardly of the position that a high frequency induction coil (21) passes, so as to form a cut line (18) extending from the surface of the resin-covered steel pipe (1) toward the steel pipe (2), deep enough to reach the surface of the steel pipe (2) from the surface of the covering resin (3), throughout the length of the resin-covered steel pipe (1), circumferentially dividing the covering resin (3) into at least two parts, heating the steel pipe by high frequency induction heating, in the position of a separating device (25) disposed at a suitable position immediately after the passage of the position of the high frequency induction coil (21), to the extent the boundary between the covering resin (3) and the steel pipe (2) assumes the state for the release of the covering resin (3) from the steel pipe (2), and cutting each covering resin (3) into at least two parts along the cut line (18) and toward the outside of the steel pipe (2) by the separating device (25) while releasing and separating it from the steel pipe (2).

    • A machine (10) for removing tubular plastic labels from bottles (13) to facilitate their re-use and recycling. The machine (10) has a multi-station turret and supply (24) and exit conveyors (80) to sequentially supply labelled bottles (13) in line to the turret and remove delabelled bottles (17) from the turret. The delabelling is accomplished with a cutter (54) which is preferably in the form of a high-pressure jet of water. Ideally, the cutter is adjusted so that it is a differential cutter which will cut a label without cutting or marring a bottle from which a label is being removed.
      With one embodiment, a water flush mechanism (34) is provided to flush cut labels from their bottles (13) and the turret onto a screen conveyor (36). The flush water passes through the conveyor (36) into a container (38) from which it is pumped for re-use. Removed labels are transported by the screen conveyor (36) to a collection bin (39).
      With another embodiment, an air blast mechanism (40) is used to strip cut labels from bottles (13) and a vacuum pick (41) up is used to collect stripped labels.
