摘要： A fiber laser device capable of restraining variations of the rise time of output laser light while shortening the rise time of the output laser light is provided. A fiber laser device (100) includes a seed laser light source (10), a pumping light source (20), an amplification optical fiber (30), a control unit (60), and an output instructing unit (65). When an output instruction is input to the control unit (60), the control unit (60) controls the seed laser light source (10) and the pumping light source (20) to be either in a pre-pumped state or in an output state. In the pre-pumped state, the pumping light source (20) outputs, for a predetermined period, pumping light with an intensity determined based on the duration of the period of time from when the output state prior to the input of the output instruction to the control unit (60) comes to an end till when the output instruction is input to the control unit (60). In the output state, to cause the output unit (50) to output laser light, the seed laser light source (10) outputs laser light, and the pumping light source (20) outputs pumping light.

摘要： The adjustment of tilt in an optical signal path of a repeater. The repeater includes an optical pump that optically powers a rare-Earth doped fiber amplifier, which amplifies the optical signal. The optical signal path also includes Raman gain stage implemented in a previous optical fiber span in the optical signal path, and which contributes tilt with respect to wavelength. Adjusting the Raman gain and/or the rare-Earth doped gain also adjusts the combined tilt contributed by these gain stages. However, the rare-Earth doped gain operates at least partially in the saturated regime, thereby stabilizing the gain at the output of the rare-Earth doped amplifier. Thus tilt control may be employed by adjusting optical pump power with reduced effect on overall gain.

This suppresses thermal diffusion and increases an absorption coefficient of a laser irradiated part of the workpiece (70), and suppresses a formed hole from being in a tapered shape and suppresses formation of uplifting around the hole upon performing of minute drilling.

摘要： A programmable tailored laser pulse generator (10) including a pulsed seed laser source (12), a laser amplifier (20), and an optical power amplifier (30) produces high power tailored laser pulses (32) shaped in response to a programmable analog tailored pulse signal applied to a seed laser (first embodiment) or an external modulator of continuous-wave seed laser output (second embodiment). The programmable analog tailored pulse signal is generated by combining multiple individually programmable analog pulses generated by a multi-channel signal generator (18). A bias applied to the pulsed seed laser source generates pre-lasing prior to producing a tailored laser pulse so that the seed laser source spectral line and line width stabilize within a narrow gain line width of a solid-state laser amplifier, thereby to impart pulse peak stability of the laser output. The tailored laser pulse generator allows for generating harmonics at shorter wavelengths and provides an economical, reliable laser source for a variety of micromachining applications.
