摘要： In one embodiment, a lidar system includes a light source configured to emit pulses of light. The lidar system also includes multiple optical links and multiple sensor heads. Each optical link couples the light source to a corresponding sensor head, and each optical link is configured to convey at least a portion of the emitted pulses of light from the light source to the corresponding sensor head. Each sensor head includes a scanner configured to scan pulses of light across a field of regard of the sensor head, where the scanned pulses of light include the portion of the emitted pulses of light conveyed from the light source to the sensor head by the corresponding optical link. Each sensor head also includes a receiver configured to detect at least a portion of the scanned pulses of light scattered or reflected by a target located downrange from the sensor head.

摘要： A laser device includes a light source that emits a source light having a first peak wavelength. A nonlinear optical component performs a frequency conversion process that converts the source light into output light having a second peak wavelength. A stabilization component minimizes a mismatch error constituting a difference between the first peak wavelength and a wavelength for which the frequency conversion process in the nonlinear optical component has a maximum value. The stabilization component may include a housing that is thermally conductive between the light source and the nonlinear optical component to minimize a temperature difference between the light source and the nonlinear optical component. The laser device may include a focusing optical component that focuses the source light to have a convergence half angle that is larger than a convergence half angle that gives maximum output power, thereby increasing an acceptable range of the mismatch error.

摘要： A pulsed fiber generator is configured with a unidirectional ring waveguide configured to emit a train of pulses. The ring waveguide includes multiple fiber amplifiers, chirping fiber components coupled to respective outputs of first and second fiber amplifiers, and multiple spectral filters coupled to respective outputs of the chirping components. The filters have respective spectral band passes centered around different central wavelengths so as to provide leakage of light along the ring cavity in response to nonlinear processes induced in the ring cavity. The pulse generator operates at a preliminary stage during which it is configured to develop a pitch to a signal, and at a steady stage during which it is configured to output a train of pulses through an output coupler at most once per a single round trip of the signal.
