摘要： Keyboard switch modules have connectors for attaching one module to another and to form a modular structural base assembly for constructing a custom key switch array which includes a foundation structural base module and a grouped keyswitch station arranged similarly to a typewriter key matrix. Accessory base modules of various keyswitch groupings can be attached to the foundation module to permit addition of accessory keys at virtually any location and in any desired number of switch modules. The keyboard switch module (45) or connectors are of the tongue-and-groove type, especially dovetail connectors formed by flanges (75) and recesses (77) on the modules. The modules include means for effecting an interference fit to interlock adjacent modules. Preferably this interlocking is achieved by means of crush ribs in the connector recesses which engage the connector flanges.

The modular switch and control system comprises a main switch module and optional satellite modules of different types. The main and satellite modules have separate housings with matching engagement structures permitting each satellite module to be fitted to one side of the main module. Each satellite module is electrically connected with the main module through matching male and female connectors. Each satellite module is provided with electrical coding means accessible through the connectors and permitting each satellite to be provided with a code indicative of the module type. The main module further includes detection means for accessing the coding means and detecting the type of connected satellite modules, and processing means for processing signals received from connected satellite modules and for generating control signals. The control signals are preferably applied through an appropriate interface to a bus installed in the vehicle, e.g. a CAN bus or a LIN bus.

摘要： An electronic keyboard includes a base defining a surface having a plurality of faces oriented at different angles. A flexible printed circuit defining rows of switches is disposed on the base surface and rows of switch actuators are disposed on the printed circuit. The actuators comprise key guide strips which define key positions offset along the rows from the switch positions and spring strips which bridge the key and switch positions so that, when keys slidably mounted in the key guide strips are depressed, they close the associated switches. The spring strips are designed to produce minimum operator fatigue and all of the keyboard components coact to give the keyboard a very low profile.
