摘要： The objective of the present invention is to provide an optical disc which solves the problem that search for data recorded on an exchange-type medium such as an optical disc and the like and which allows search for data recorded in an optical disc to be performed with a simple operation. A transmitting/receiving antenna 231 is provided in an inner peripheral portion of an optical disc. An IC module 201 connected with transmission/reception IC 230 including ID information is formed and embedded into a substrate the optical disc. Thus, an optical disc incorporating an IC module which can be produced on a mass-production basis can be achieved.

摘要： An audio/video reproducing apparatus comprises an activity detector operable to receive video signals representing images and to generate an activity signal indicative of an amount of activity within the sound/images represented by the audio/video signal. An image generator is coupled to the activity detector and is operable to generate sample images at temporal positions within the audio/video signal, which temporal positions are determined from the activity signal. The processing apparatus thereby provides a facility for automatically generating meta data from received audio/video signals. The meta data can be used to select the audio/video material.

摘要： A technique is provided for enabling an index to data recorded in a recording medium such as a cassette to be read out without mounting the recording medium on a reproduction apparatus to reproduce the data. When a cassette (100) is inserted into a VTR (41), a reader/writer reads out information on data from a memory card mounted on the cassette for recording the data through an antenna. With the cassette located outside, on the other hand, the reader/writer reads out the information from the memory card through another antenna.

摘要： A data processing unit and method and program for allowing a user to record desired data more reliably. A recording start instruction point B indicates the recording position of AV data that is captured by imaging when the user issues an instruction to record data. A recording end instruction point C indicates the recording position of AV data that is capatured by imaging when the user issues an instruction to end recording. Recording pre-splice AV data preceding the recording start instruction point B and post-splice AV data succeeding the recording end instruction point C allows the user to record necessary video (audio) more reliably and reduces a failure in capturing desired video (audio). This invention is applicable to a video recorder.

摘要： The present invention relates to a data processing apparatus and method and to a program in which a user can reliably record desired data. An instructed recording start point B indicates a position at which AV data captured when the user gives an instruction to start recording is recorded. An instructed recording end point C indicates a position at which AV data captured when the user gives an instruction to finish recording is recorded. Extra pre-AV data before the instructed recording start point B and extra post-AV data after the instructed recording end point C are recorded. Accordingly, the user can record required images (sound) more reliably, and thus, the possibility of the user missing desired images (sound) is decreased. The present invention is applicable to a video image recording apparatus.

The CD (1) consists of a disk-shaped CD body with a layer (3) for data storage and a chip (12) and a CD coupling element (11) for contact-free transmission of data between the chip (12) and a data processing device. The CD coupling element (11) can be designed as a coil, an electrostatic coupling surface or as an optical coupling element. For reading out the data stored on the data storage layer of the CD (1), the CD (1) can be inserted into a CD drive.
