摘要： A rotation-activated electronic component, preferably a RFID tag (110) mounted on or incorporated in a support (100) that is rotated when read, e.g. a CD or DVD. The RFID tag (110) comprises an antenna (112), a rotational switch (114) and a component (116), advantageously a processor. The antenna (112) is adapted to transform received RFID signals (722) to electric energy that powers the component (116). In a preferred embodiment, the rotational switch (114) is adapted to cut the circuit unless the support (100) does not rotate at or above a certain rotational speed (370). Supports equipped with the RFID tag of the invention will thus respond only if they rotate sufficiently. This can avoid collisions in case more than one such RFID tag is within communication range of an antenna (720) of a reader. In a preferred embodiment, the information returned by the component (116) is needed for full use of the content on the support (100).

摘要： A readable and writable radio frequency identification (RFID) tag is attached to a physical medium such as a CDROM or DVD. Each time a copy of the medium is created, a variable or count stored in the writable RFID is updated. In cases where the mechanism for reading and writing the RFID is in communication with the device making a copy of the medium, the created copy can have its permitted number of copies set to zero, or other restrictions put in place. Or the device can be prevented from making any copies. In this manner the total number of copies of an original product can be regulated. The RFID can be read or written from a mechanism in a CDROM or DVD player or the read/write mechanism can be in a different device such as in a computer, or in another device.

摘要： This invention concerns a data storage medium in the form of a CD (1) which is writable one or more times. The CD (1) consists of a disk-shaped CD body with a layer (3) for data storage and a chip (12) and a CD coupling element (11) for contact-free transmission of data between the chip (12) and a data processing device. The CD coupling element (11) can be designed as a coil, an electrostatic coupling surface or as an optical coupling element. For reading out the data stored on the data storage layer of the CD (1), the CD (1) can be inserted into a CD drive. The CD drive has a drive coupling element (51) which similarly to the CD coupling element (11) is designed as a coil, an electrostatic coupling surface or as an optical coupling element and sends to or receives data from the CD coupling element (11). In one embodiment of the invention, the CD coupling element (11) is not integrated in the CD body, but in a pressure plate (65) of the CD drive which revolves with the CD (1) and contacts contact surfaces (6) positioned on the CD (1) to establish electrical contact with the chip (12) of the CD (1).
