摘要： A digital image signal is decomposed into a multi-scale representation comprising detail images and approximation images. Translation difference images are computed by subtracting an approximation image at scale s and a translated version of that approximation image. The values of the translation difference images are non-linearly modified. An amplification image is computed at at least one scale as the ratio of a first image being computed by combining the modified translation difference images at the same or smaller scale and a second image created by combining unenhanced translation difference images at the same or smaller scale. Next, an enhanced multi-scale detail representation is computed by modifying at at least one scale the detail image according to the amplification image at that scale. An enhanced image representation is computed by applying a reconstruction algorithm to the enhanced multi-scale detail representation. The non-linear modification of the values of the translation difference image is steered by the values of an orientation map which comprises for each pixel on a specific scale a local direction of interest.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide a video encoding method, a video decoding method, a video encoder, and a video decoder. The video encoding method includes: obtaining a to-be-encoded HDR image frame, where the HDR image frame includes multiple image blocks; determining, in multiple preset optical-electro transfer functions according to a statistical luminance value of each of the multiple image blocks, an optical-electro transfer function corresponding to the image block; performing optical-to-electrical conversion on the image block according to the optical-electro transfer function corresponding to the image block; and encoding the multiple image blocks on which the optical-to-electrical conversion has been performed. According to the embodiments of the present invention, one corresponding optical-electro transfer function is set for each image block, so as to improve a video encoding effect and better adapt to an existing video encoding framework.

The system comprises an input port (IN) for receiving i) image data comprising a range of intensity values converted from signals acquired by an imaging apparatus in respect of an imaged object, and ii) a definition of a first transfer function configured to map a data interval within said range of said intensity values to an image interval of image values. A transition region identifier (TRI) identifies from among intensity values outside said data interval, one or more transition intensity values representative of a transition in composition and/or configuration of said object or of a transition in respect of a physical property in relation to said object. A transfer function generator (TFG) generates for said intensity values outside said data interval a second transfer function. The second transfer function is non-linear and has a respective gradient that is locally maximal around said transition intensity values. A renderer (RD) then renders, on a display unit (MT), a visualization of at least a part of said image data based on the two transfer functions.
