    • An image processing apparatus for detecting a singular point from image data having a plurality of pixel signals arranged in a two-dimensional manner, having a stochastic resonance processing unit configured to perform parallel steps in each of which a noise is added to and the result is subjected to binarization processing, synthesize the results of the parallel steps and output the result, with regard to each of the plurality of pixel signals; and a unit configured to detect the singular point based on the output signal value from the stochastic resonance processing unit for each of the plurality of pixel signals. The stochastic resonance processing unit performs the binarization processing on a pixel as a processing target among the plurality of pixel signals based on the pixel signal of the pixel as the processing target and a pixel signal of a pixel adjacent to the pixel as the processing target in a predetermined direction.

    • The invention discloses a method for welding tubular elements (10) that utilizes a method for defining the outline of sections of tubular elements which comprises the steps of: arranging a scanning device (1) and defining a respective scanning resolution (RS); arranging a tubular element (10) that has outlines (11); defining a framing position (PI) for scanning an outline (11) on the scanning device (1); scanning the outline (11) so as to obtain an image (20) of the outline (11); defining edges (21) of the section in the image (20); deforming the edges (21) as a function of the outline (11) so as to define a refined image (20p); scale mapping (M) the outline (11) starting from the refined image (20p) as a function of the resolution (RS); arranging at least two tubular elements (10) comprising respective zones to be welded (4) facing each other; heating the zones to be welded (4); coupling the zones to be welded (4), one to the other; making a groove (19) in each zone to be welded, of the tubular elements (10), prior to the heating step, the groove (19) being made by means of a removal procedure on the perimeter of the outline (11) of each tubular element (10), in which removal is carried out as a function of the scale mapping (M). The invention also discloses an apparatus for welding tubular elements (10) for implementing the method disclosed.
