    • An operation unit (62) of an image forming apparatus receives an input operation. A housing (7) accommodates an image reading part (2) and the operation unit (62). The housing (7) includes a first frame (71), a second frame (72) and an engaging mechanism (74). The first frame (71) includes a first accommodating portion (711) and a second accommodating portion (712). The first accommodating portion (711) includes a bottom plate (711A) and has an accommodating space within which the image reading part (2) is accommodated. The second accommodating portion (712) protrudes outward in a first direction from a side surface of the first accommodating portion (711) and is positioned higher than the bottom plate (711 A). The second accommodating portion (712) has an accommodating space within which the operation unit (62) is accommodated. The second frame (72) is attached to a peripheral edge portion of an opening formed on a top surface of the first accommodating portion (711). The engaging mechanism (74) is installed at the side of the base end portion of the second accommodating portion (712) and is configured to bring the second accommodating portion (712) and the second frame (72) into engagement with each other in a direction perpendicular to the side surface of the first accommodating portion (711).
