摘要： Sample preparation device for receiving in sealing relation one or more filter assemblies and one or more sample containers, each container uniquely positioned within the device to receive filtered sample from a designated filter. The device includes a body, a lid disposed on the body, a container tray, a base, an integrated seal on the body, a valve and a valve actuator. The tray can be disposed in a vacuum chamber defined by the lid and the body, and one or more sample containers can be disposed in the tray. When properly positioned in the tray in the vacuum chamber, each container is in fluid communication with a single respective filter assembly disposed in sealing relation in a respective aperture in the lid. A single actuation of a valve causes the lid to seal to the base and drives the simultaneous filtration of a plurality of samples.

摘要： A combination of a liquid chromatograph and a gas chromatograph was a possible measure for improving precision in analyzing organic chemical substances. However, because elutes from liquid chromatoghaphies contain water and a highly polar solvent, injection thereof into a gas chromatograph has been impossible. Consequently, to develop an analytical method which realizes that combination and an apparatus thereof has been a subject. The method of the quantitative analysis comprises subjecting a sample for analysis prepared beforehand by extracting organic chemical substances from an assay sample to fractionation by a liquid chromatograph, continuously adsorbing a fractionated elute containing a substance to be determined onto a solid-phase cartridge while conducting the fractionation, eluting this substance, which has been adsorbed on the solid-phase cartridge, with an eluent, and transferring the elute to a storage chamber of a gas chromatograph.

摘要： A method for calibrating an analysis instrument, e.g., a gas chromatograph, for water analysis that includes four steps. The first step is to continuously remove water from a liquid that contains water to produce a liquid containing a reduced amount of water such as by membrane pervaporation. The second step is to analyze the liquid containing a reduced amount of water for water by a reference water analysis method such as by Karl Fischer titration. The third step is to analyze the stream of liquid containing a reduced amount of water using the instrument to be calibrated, e.g., a gas chromatograph having a helium photoionization pulse discharge detector. The fourth step is to calibrate the instrument using the analysis of the second step. In a related embodiment, a system for normal phase chromatography.
