    • In a heat tracing system using heat from a radiant heater to heat a circulating fluid, thermoelectric generation modules are used to generate electricity for powering a circulating pump. Thermoelectric power generation modules are sandwiched between a heat-absorbing plate and a heat sink, and this assembly is positioned with the heat-absorbing plate adjacent to a radiant heater. A conduit loop passes through the heat sink, such that a fluid circulating through the conduit is heated from heat drawn from the heater into the heat sink. Due to the temperature differential between the hot and cold sides of the thermoelectric modules, the modules produce electricity to power the pump circulating the fluid through the conduit loop. Supplementary heat exchanger components may be provided for additional fluid-heating capacity, and thereby increasing the amount of heat available for the heat tracing loop.

    • Provided is a portable boiler for a heating mat including a water reservoir, a heat-transfer part, a heating part, and a housing. The water reservoir includes an inlet tube, a fixing bracket, a check valve, and a temperature sensor. The inlet tube is connected to one and of a circulation pipe buried in the heating mat on the one side of the upper portion of the water reservoir. The fixing bracket has a plurality of holes to allow the circulating water to flow into the heat-transfer part. The check valve is formed of a thin film and opens/closes the plurality of holes according to a water pressure of the circulating water. The temperature sensor senses a temperature of the circulating water to generate a physical signal using expansion and contraction of a liquid filled therein. The heat-transfer part has the flow passage that allows the circulating water to absorb heat when the check valve is opened and the circulating water flows therein. The heating part includes a gas controller, a controller, and an igniter. The gas controller controls an injection amount of the fuel gas supplied from the fuel tank. The controller receives the physical signal from the temperature sensor to control the gas controller. The igniter includes a combustor for burning the fuel gas supplied from the gas controller and a spark plug generating an electric spark on the combustor.

    • A method of hydraulic fracturing of an oil producing formation includes the provision of a heating apparatus which is transportable and that has a vessel for containing water. A water stream of cool or cold water is transmitted from a source to a mixer, the cool or cold water stream being at ambient temperature. The mixer has an inlet that receives cool or cold water from the source and an outlet that enables a discharge of a mix of cool or cold water and the hot water. After mixing in the mixer, the water assumes a temperature that is suitable for mixing with chemicals that are used in the fracturing process, such as a temperature of about 40° -120° F.+(4.4 - 48.9° C.+). An outlet discharges a mix of the cool and hot water to surge tanks or to mixing tanks. In the mixing tanks, a proppant and an optional selected chemical or chemicals are added to the water which has been warmed. From the mixing tanks, the water with proppant and optional chemicals is injected into the well for part of the hydraulic fracturing operation.
