    • An integrated control apparatus (60) includes an internal combustion engine (2) configured to be operated at a lean air-fuel ratio, a stepped automatic transmission (40), a powertrain manager (62), and an engine controller (64). The powertrain manager (62) is configured to: output a target torque (TQreq1) and a advance torque command (TQreq2) to the engine controller (64); start decreasing the target torque (TQreq1) after a specified time elapses from a timing of the upshifting instruction; and decrease the advance torque command (TQreq2) before the decrease of the target torque (TQreq1). The engine controller (64) is configured to: start a reduction in the air amount in accordance with a magnitude of decrease of the advance torque command (TQreq2); start reducing the air amount between the start of the decrease of the advance torque command (TQreq2) and the start of the decrease of the target torque (TQreq1); and adjust the air-fuel ratio in accordance with a deviation between the target torque (TQreq1) and a torque that is estimated from the lean air-fuel ratio and the air amount.
