    • A propeller blade assembly comprises a propeller blade (2) having a blade root (6) for attaching the propeller blade (2) to a hub (8). The blade root (6) has a radially outer surface (32). The assembly further comprises a collar (14) mounted to the blade root (6). The collar (14) comprises at least two collar segments (20, 22) assembled around the radially outer surface (32) of the blade root (6). Each collar segment (20, 22) has a radially inner surface (26, 30), an opposed radially outward surface (24, 28) and first and second circumferential end lugs (36, 38, 42, 44). The lugs (36, 38, 42, 44) receive fasteners (48) for coupling the collar segments (20, 22) together to form the collar (14). The collar segments (20, 22) are formed from a flexible plastics material and the radially inner surface (26, 30) of each collar segments (20, 22) engages the radially outer surface (32) of the blade root (6) only over a limited circumferential extent of the collar segment (30, 32).
