摘要： A rotating heat regenerator is used to recover heat from the syngas at it exits the reactor vessel of a waste or biomass gasifier. In some embodiments, three or more streams are passed through the heat exchanger. One stream is the dirty syngas, which heats the rotating material. A second stream is a cold stream that is heated as it passes through the material. A third stream is a cleaning stream, which serves to remove particulates that are collected on the rotating material as the dirty syngas passes through it. This apparatus can also be used as an auto-heat exchanger, or it can exchange heat between separate flows in the gasifier process. The apparatus can also be used to reduce the heating requirement for the thermal residence chamber (TRC) used downstream from the gasification system.

摘要： A two-step gasification process and apparatus for the conversion of solid or liquid organic waste into clean fuel, suitable for use in a gas engine or a gas burner, is described. The waste is fed initially into a primary gasifier, which is a graphite arc furnace. Within the primary gasifier, the organic components of the waste are mixed with a predetermined amount of air, oxygen or steam, and converted into volatiles and soot. The volatiles consist mainly of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, and may include a variety of other hydrocarbons and some fly ash. The gas exiting the primary gasifier first passes through a hot cyclone, where some of the soot and most of the fly ash is collected and returned to the primary gasifier. The remaining soot along with the volatile organic compounds is further treated in a secondary gasifier where the soot and the volatile compounds mix with a high temperature plasma jet and a metered amount of air, oxygen or steam, and are converted into a synthesis gas consisting primarily of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The synthesis gas is then quenched and cleaned to form a clean fuel gas suitable for use in a gas engine or a gas burner. This offers higher thermal efficiency than conventional technology and produces a cleaner fuel than other known alternatives.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for gasifying substances containing carbon. The substances containing carbon are fed via the transfer canal (2) into the reactor (3). When viewed in the direction of gravitational force, plasma torches (4) are arranged at the lower end of the reactor (3) and serve to produce a gaseous plasma in this case. The oxidation products, i.e. clinker, glass, ashes, are drawn downward and arrive at a solidifier (5) inside of which the oxidation products are separated, subsequently collected in the collecting bin (6), and transported away when required. The gas produced inside the reactor arrives via line (7) at the gas washer (8), inside of which the gas, by means of sprayed water, is cooled and purified. The discharging water arrives via line (9) at the collecting bin (6), inside of which water is already present whereby enabling the clinker, glass or the like to be cooled. The purified gas is fed via line (10) into the compressor (11), inside of which the gas is compressed to 2 bar and is then purified once more while passing through filter (12), and is then mixed inside the gas mixer (13) with air taken from the atmosphere, which is supplied via air filter (14), and this mixture of gas and air then arrives via line (15) in the gas engine (16) that drives a generator (17).

摘要： A method and apparatus for producing substitute natural gas are disclosed as including a plasma reactor (PR) which has arc discharge electrodes and a large number of minute arc passages (35) formed in solid carbon materials filled in the plasma reactor. Feed water is converted into steam in steam generating zone (34A) of the plasma reactor and the steam is fed through the minute arc passages in which steam reacts the solid carbon materials in the presence of arc plasmas to produce synthesis gas. The synthesis gas is supplied to a methanation reactor which converts the synthesis gas into substitute natural gas. The arc discharge electrodes may be supplied with controlled electric power such that a H 2 /CO ratio is maintained at a fixed value. The substitute natural gas may be cooled to separate condensed water, which is recycled to the plasma reactor for production of the steam therein.
