    • Provided is an airbag apparatus which enables a deployment direction of an airbag to be effectively regulated in spite of the simple structure of the apparatus. In an airbag apparatus provided with a fabric housing that houses an airbag and an inflator, the housing has a housing area which has a first opening edge and a second opening edge facing the first opening edge and in which the air bag that has been folded and the inflator are housed; a first flap coupled to the first opening edge of the housing area and extending from the first opening edge toward the second opening edge to cover the airbag; and a second flap coupled to the second opening edge and arranged to extend from the second opening edge toward the first opening edge to overhang the first flap. When inflation gas is output from the inflator, the first and second flaps are opened to permit the airbag to be inflated and deployed. The second flap includes, on the side surface thereof, a regulation member that regulates an amount of opening of the flap.
