    • Disclosed are a film coating nozzle (140), and an apparatus and a method for coating a compressor piston (P1) using the same. The film coating (140) nozzle comprises a nozzle body (150) configured to supply coating material; and coating material spreading means (160) defined with a coating material injection hole which is communicated with the inside of the nozzle body (150), and formed integrally with the nozzle body (150) to spread to a uniform film thickness coating material applied to a surface of a product, in such a way as to remove excess coating material. The apparatus comprises rotation support means for rotatably supporting both ends of a piston for a fixed displacement swash plate type compressor; a pair of first coating material applying means installed above the rotation support means such that they can be moved upward and downward, the first coating material applying means having a pair of first nozzles which apply coating material to circumferential outer surfaces of both head parts of the piston and spread to a uniform film thickness applied coating material; fixing means installed in the vicinity of the rotation support means to fixedly support both ends of the piston; and second coating material applying means installed above the fixing means such that it can be moved upward and downward and slid laterally, the second coating material applying means having a second nozzle which applies coating material to a bridge part of the piston, and is slid to spread to a uniform film thickness applied coating material.

    • An apparatus for operating a fluid dispensing gun (22) to dispense a fluid onto a substrate (28) moving relative to the dispensing gun (22). The apparatus has a sensor (80) that produces a sensor feedback signal in response to the fluid dispensing gun (22) changing operating states. A control is connected to the sensor (80) and provides first signals causing the fluid dispensing gun (22) to change operating states. The control has a detector (82) producing a compensation signal representing a difference between the occurrences of one of said first signals and the sensor feedback signal. The control then adjusts a subsequent first signal in response to the compensation signal. Thus, the control automatically compensates the operation of the fluid dispensing gun in real time for changes in the switching time of the fluid dispensing gun required to change its operating states.

    • A system (30) for dispensing a viscous material onto a substrate (16) which includes a dispensing element (22), a viscous material reservoir (20) and a metering device (25) coupled between the reservoir (20) and the dispensing element (22) for metering a variable amount of a viscous material through the dispensing element (22). The dispensing element (22) and metering device (25) can be moved by a positioner (32) along a predetermined pattern adjacent a surface of a substrate (16). A weigh scale (52) located adjacent the substrate (16) receives a metered amount of the viscous material and produces signals representative of a variable weight of the material dispensed during a predetermined time interval. A controller (40) adjusts a speed of movement of the positioner (32) along the predetermined pattern to cause the dispensing element (22) to dispense a desired amount of material based on a calculated flow rate. Alternatively, the controller (40) adjusts a rate of delivery based on the calculated flow rate.
